About the AssociationThe Polish Association of Beef Cattle Breeders and Producers in Warsaw is the only legal representative of beef cattle breeders in Poland. Founded in 1994 as a movement of cattle breeders and beef producers, the Association is aimed at work for decentralization and self-organization of beef cattle breeding. The Association represents the rights and interests of beef cattle breeders and producers. The Association is an independent, voluntary and self-governing organization comprising about 950 members (data for July 1st, 2009). There are private farmers, state farmers, state treasury corporations, private co-operatives and tenanted farms. The Association co-operates closely with many cattle-breeding institutions, both nationwide and abroad. Since 1st of July 2002 the Polish Association of Beef Cattle Breeders and Producers has been the only organization authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to keep herd books and performance records for beef cattle in Poland for the following races: Red and Black Angus, Blonde d’Aquitaine, Charolais, Galloway, Highland, Hereford, Limousin, Marchigiana, Piemontese, Salers, Simmental and Welsh Black.
